What Our Local Moving Service Includes

Every local move with TOMCO is full-service by default. Your crew arrives with a fully equipped truck and handles:

  • Furniture padding, stretch-wrapping, and disassembly/reassembly
  • Loading, transport, and placement room-by-room at your new home
  • Floor runners and door-jamb protection at both addresses
  • Optional packing services, packing supplies, and short- or long-term storage

How Local Moving Estimates Work

Local moves are priced by the hour, based on crew size and travel time between addresses. When you request a quote, we look at the size of your home, how much you’re moving, and the access at both addresses, then recommend the right crew and give you a realistic estimate. No lowball number that grows on moving day, and no obligation to book.

Getting Ready for Moving Day

A little prep the week before makes moving day faster, and since local moves are billed hourly, faster means cheaper. Here’s what our crews recommend:

  • Confirm access at both addresses. Reserve parking for the truck, and check elevator or HOA rules if either address needs them.
  • Pack a first-night box. Keep documents, medications, chargers, toiletries, and a change of clothes with you, not on the truck.
  • Empty and defrost the fridge at least 24 hours before the move.
  • Finish packing before the crew arrives. Boxes sealed and labeled by room let the crew load without waiting.
  • Set aside what stays. Group anything that isn’t going on the truck in one clearly marked spot.
  • Plan for kids and pets. Open doors and heavy furniture in motion are easier without little helpers underfoot.
